I’m at a loss for today’s post. I’m feeling hormonal and anxious so I hesitate to write something for fear of offending someone (or myself). Best to stick with the facts. Some of you may know these facts, some may not.
1. I am the oldest child in a family of 3 girls.
2. I was the valedictorian and class president in high school.
3. I was a cheerleader for 17 years.
4. I have a Bachelors degree in Biology from Wittenberg University. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude.
5. I met my husband when I was 18 and a freshman at Witt. He was 20 and a junior.
6. I was born in Huntington, West Virginia. I’d like to move back there.
7. I dropped out of grad school.
8. I was 3.5 years into a Ph.D. in Microbiology and had an article published in the Journal of Bacteriology.
9. My science education is why Down syndrome does not freak me out. I know how to research current medical literature and understand almost all of it.
10. I am a perfectionist. I have learned to let a lot of things go, but I sometimes cry out of sheer frustration of not having things "perfect" enough.
11. I am a procrastinator.
12. I was very, very good at my job when I was working.
13. We plan to have another baby very soon. We plan on calling the RE in the next couple of months.
14. There is no chance we will conceive without a doctor involved. It makes me angry.
15. I will never experience a carefree, stress-free pregnancy. It makes me angry.
16. I’m still debating about switching OB/GYN practices because of what I saw in my chart during labor. I’ll probably write about this during this month.
17. Knitting soothes my soul when it needs it.
18. I do not feel like I am almost 31. I still feel like I’m 17.
19. I have a serious addiction to Pepsi.
20. I have an extremely bad temper. It doesn’t flare up that often, but watch out if it does. I have lost all control a few times because of it.
21. Liam is awake and whining in the next room.

Just so you know, you’ll still feel like you’re 17 when you’re 41. Not such a bad thing. ๐

Sorry it’s a rough day today. I’m 32 and still feel like I’m 17 – maybe it’s because we are shorties?
I’m sorry too that becoming and being pregnant is such a difficult road for you.

You know what? This post was very illuminating. All this about control and perfectionism…I usually imagine you so calm. Maybe it’s the yarn! ๐

I relate to your Pepsi addiction. I have a serious addiction to Diet Coke.

I had my son at St. Lukes in Ft. Thomas… my doctors where great to start with then turned against me and my husband towards the end when they couldn’t figure out why I was in so much pain at 7 months pregnant.
Because the pregnancy was such a traumatic experience (physically & emotionally), we’ve decided not to have more children. Our 2 are healthy… thank god for that.
My advise… if you don’t like your doctors, switch now… you will be happier and a lot less stressed out.
My cousin went to C-town for her fertility doctor and really like the staff/doctor. They were very compassionate and understanding.
I guess, in the end pregnancy sucks… but the rewards are beautiful.
Best luck in which ever you decide.

Very interesting list.
I’m sorry about the struggle, but I like the idea of you having another baby.

Sing it, sister. ๐
Although lately, I’ve been on this quest for the perfect Root Beer….
