Liam had his 6 month check up today. 17 lbs, 8 oz and 26 inches. He’s a big boy. He jumped from 25th percentile in height and weight to 50th percentile. On a normal growth chart. On the Down syndrome growth charts, he’s 95th percentile. They’re very happy with his growth because it’s an indication that his heart is giving him no problems.
They also did a developmental assessment. At this point, they have him as a typically developing 6 month old with no developmental delays. Now, this was a quick and dirty assessment. I’m not overly excited that he has no delays. I know that delays will come, but it makes me happy that he’s doing so well. The real developmental assessment comes next month when we haul down to Childrens to the Down syndrome clinic for a 4 hour assessment. Overall, I’m not worried about his development and am so happy that he’s such a star.
Oh, and he FLIRTED with the nurse practitioner. Smiled, cooed, batted his eyelashes. This kid is a charmer.

I am glad that things went so well. From what you have been saying he sounds right on track with the “normal” goals and such. There is nothing normal about a baby. LOL They all do things in their own time. I was worried about James and talking. Let’s just say there are no worries now. 😉
