A couple of weeks ago, we packed up and headed up to Yellow Springs for A Wool Gathering. It's held at Young's Dairy, which was a big part of mine and Doug's dating experience. Doug even agreed to go this year as long as I promised to buy him an ice cream.
We got there and walked around as I surveyed everything. I bought some yarn from Knitting Notions and Creatively Dyed (pictures to come). Then we took Liam to check out the animals.
When Liam saw the llamas, he started saying "nay! nay!" We didn't correct him because we have no idea what a llama says. They're big animals, close enough.
After seeing the sheep, llamas, and rabbits, we went over to the ice cream shop and met my college roommate for lunch. She still lives in the area. After lunch, we all got some ice cream as A and I chatted some more. Liam took a snooze. As we were talking, A just looked at me and said, "You are so lucky." I am, and I'm so grateful for what I've got.
It was really fun to take the family out to an event like this. I want to be one of those families that does wholesome, fun activities for the kids and the adults. Today we were supposed to go to a local farm for a hayride and pumpkin picking, but that got put off for another weekend. I blame Doug for that one since he got a cranky bug up his ass this morning. Raking the leaves was more important today. Whatever. I got the kitchen and bathroom cleaned.

Ahhhh! I’m so jealous! I LOVE their ice cream. If you haven’t tried it yet, try their key lime ice cream (which they only have during the summer), it’s yummy. Also their cinnamon ice cream is the BOMB!

Ice cream sounds excellent. We went for the autumn experience today, with the pumpkins and hayride and apple picking. And so did every single other person in the state. I bet if you wait a few weeks, it’ll be slower. Everyone will be Christmas shopping by then.

Eh, B says that horses say “toot toot” and opens and closes his hand on his forehead. We used to correct him, but I think it’s funny. I’ll be sad when horses don’t say “toot toot” anymore, I think.
