So, you know, the little business I started? Ewe3? Well, I jumped through the hoops, registered the business with the state, filed all the necessary paperwork to get the appropriate licenses, did the tax thing. I opened a separate business banking account because it’s a good idea to keep the two separate. For the past two days, I’ve been receiving junk mail trying to get me to purchase credit card scanners, accounting software, etc, etc. So either the bank or the state of Ohio has sold my information to these people.
Annoying.

I do believe registering with the state makes it public record – just like when you buy a house you start getting security system junkmail and refinancing junkmail. Either way – bummer!

Yes once you register you are completely public. So anyone can get your info. Same with your house, anyone can go to the court house and pull up all that info. Kind of scarry.

You just need to opt-out of the offers as they arrive. It’s public record, as everyone has said, and that’s where sales people for health insurance, etc. get their leads.
