I came home today in a grump because my not so DH had locked me out of the house and wouldn’t answer my increasingly frantic knocks on the door. I had to get out of the garage and go around and unlock both locks on the front door. He acted surprised that I was home. Then I got a message from some company that was to deliver a gift to Kerry as part of the Secret Pal exchange–they had problems with the delivery. (By the way, Kerry, you should get it on Saturday, instead of today as told by me yesterday.) Then as I’m rifling through the mail on the kitchen table, there it was. A package for me from my as yet unnamed Secret Pal way out on the West Coast.
In it was this:
Some bamboo DPNs, a Skor bar, some knitterly notecards, and a custom mix CD. Thanks so much Secret Pal!! Skor bars are one of my favorites; I eat all the chocolate then eat the toffee. I’m listening to your mix right now as I type. Me likey!
When I went to my family’s for the holiday, I thought that all my time would be spent knitting. Not so much. I worked mostly on the poncho, but it’s still not finished. I worked on the lopi lace scarf; it’s progressing. I didn’t knit an inch on Clapotis. So that’s my sad and pathetic knitting progress. I did take some pictures while I was at Mom’s, and I’m going to share some with you. They’re not really knitting related, but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless.
You probably know that I have 2 cats, Spike and Roxie. My mom keeps my other kitty. In his heyday, he was a 17 pound beast with claws like knives, quite Freddy Kreuger-ish. Here he is now…A 17 year old sweetie.
This is Chaos in one of his favorite places—-a shopping bag.
Note my Lambikin’s bag and the swift in the picture. I brought 2 bags worth of knitting stuff. My family thinks I’m bonkers.
Here is Chaos in his absolute favorite place. The clothes basket full of my sister’s clean clothes. I know he looks, well, ragged, but he still has a voracious appetite and purrs like a engine. He has a good life.
I said I was going to venture out Scary Holler to visit my grandparents. I didn’t make it out there, but I did see quite a bit of my other grandparents. Here’s a picture of my and my Mammaw Freda.
That shirt looks monstrous on me. It’s my husband’s. Well, I plan to post one day this weekend. I hope to have something to show off. Have a loverly weekend!
