Celebrated my 28th birthday Friday. DH and I went to dinner at Claddagh’s Irish Pub. Excellent food! And DH is quite enthralled with the beer selection. So what did I get you’re asking? Hmmm, well my mom and grandma sent money (to buy whatever I want, aka yarn), my MIL sent a gift card to Joann Fabric (to buy knitting supplies/yarn), and DH gave me his credit card and said order whatever camera you want. He wanted to surprise me with one, but I kept changing my mind about what camera I thought would be best. So Thursday night, I sat down ordered myself a camera, printer, and camera dock. The camera dock was free with the camera/printer bundle. Saturday afternoon, the FedEx man brought my gifts. So without further ado, I think it’s about time I show you my WIPs.
The reason why I knitted a cat bed—to keep Roxie off my sweaters! The cat bed repels the cats but just look at what the poncho does…
Here’s a close-up of the baby cables. Whoever thought this up was one smart cookie. It looks really pretty, makes me look like a fairly accomplished knitter, but is super easy.
I haven’t started Clapotis yet. I’m still terrified of mangling my yarn. Anyone know any tips to winding the yarn without a ball winder? Maybe that’s what I should buy with my birthday money! I probably won’t get around to winding today. Lots of household stuff to do. Not to mention the Bengals are on this afternoon. Plus it’s Halloween and if there’s going to be a massacre, it will probably be me trying to wind this yarn. But here’s a pic of my pretty, pretty yarn.
Happy Halloween! Spike wishes you more treats than tricks!

I use my small laundry basket turned upside down as my swift and wind my yarn over a paper towel tube.
Your kitties are so cute!
