Liam has taken some great developmental leaps over the past few weeks. We are so, so proud of him. He’s moving much, much more than ever before. The other day, I found him in the laundry room banging a toy on the concrete floor. After I moved him back into the room I was in, I returned to folding clothes. I look over and guess who is unfolding the clothes at my feet?
The other big new thing is language. His receptive language is, I think, at age. Now he’s beginning to show it. I also believe that we may have heard a word or two over the past two days. He’s said "hiiiiii" enough times and at the appropriate time for us to think he might actually be saying hi. I thought I heard "byyyyyye" today as well. Again, at an appropriate time in the conversation. He’s imitating and following directions (except for spitting). He also does one other thing that made Doug’s mouth drop open in amazement. Doug then said "holy shit" after seeing what Liam was doing. I don’t know if I can catch it on video because he’d rather deal with the camera. What he’s been doing is identifying numerous objects when asked. Let’s say I show him a picture of a bird and a horse and ask him to show me the horse. He touches the picture of the horse. Show me an apple. He picks the picture of the apple instead of the picture of red shoes. Where’s the dog? He picks the dog instead of the rabbit. He’s done this many times so I have to start ruling out coincidence.
My amazing babe.

Oh my God he’s the cutest thing! I love when he’s “shaking it” – love the way little kids open their eyes really wide to concentrate on dancing = too funny.
Seamonkey took a while to use his back legs to crawl – we kept having to prop him up on his hands and knees and rocking him back and forth so he could see how to balance himself. He got it eventually!
