Doug got and took that new job I mentioned several weeks ago. One question that we had was about the health insurance. Would it be better or different than what we currently have?
We found out yesterday.
1) All of our current doctors and therapists are in network. That’s good.
2) Copay is $5 less. That’s good.
3) PT/OT/ST has no copay. That’s good.
4) They only pay 90% of therapy. Not so good, but still cheaper than old policy, if you add it all up.
Here’s the big one…
They pay for infertility treatment!!!!! Only up to $3000 maximum, which would suck if we had to do IVF; but since we don’t, we should be 100% covered (no IF drug coverage though). We were going to start the baby-making process over again in December but have waited to see what the new policy would cover, if anything. I did a little happy dance over that.
Also, should Liam remain unmarried and unable to work, he would be covered on the policy with no age limits. That’s a looooong way down the road. Obviously, we expect him to be a fully functioning and productive member of society so he wouldn’t qualify. Still, it’s nice to know.

Hey, that’s great! Insurance is such a load of crap, but you sure can’t do without it. We just got new insurance, and it’s not as good as what we had before. They cover the same stuff, mostly, but at a higher copay, deductible, out-of-pocket, etc.
So consider me jealous. But that’s great news about the babymaking!

Wow that it great! Wish our insurance was like it used to be. *sigh*

In these days of crappy insurance coverage that’s terrific news.
