On my way home from work today, I stopped by the new Borders at the new Deerfield Towne Center. It’s going to be very very dangerous! It’s right across the street from my new job. Lunchtime shopping!!! Anyway, it’s probably the nicest bookstore I’ve been in. And I haven’t met a bookstore (or a library for that matter) that I haven’t liked. So many books! So little time! I did buy some things for me. I spent quite a bit of time flipping through some knitting books. They had a huge selection for a non-knitting store. I only bought EZ’s Knitting Without Tears. I really couldn’t buy much more without getting the dreaded wrath of Doug when I got home. I did pick up some stuff for my secret pal though. Gotta get her stuff in the mail soon.
I finished the cat bed on Saturday morning. I have to seam the border to the bed and it’s finito! I’ll probably save the sewing for later. Roxie is in no hurry to have a finished bed. It does look cute though. I’m never knitting anything again for my little ingrate beasts. Who am I kidding? I’ll probably knit something for them if it strikes my fancy.
The poncho is really rocking along. I knit on it all day Saturday and Sunday. It was a welcome distraction on Sunday. DH was watching the Bengals and Browns football game. Do you hear that noise? It’s the sound of the Bengals’ season going down the drain. Oh, Marvin Lewis, you brought us such hope last year. And now it’s SOB (Same Old Bengals).
I want to start the Lopi Lace scarf. But I realized I don’t have one of the needle sizes. I’ll pick those up on Wednesday night. I also am fishing around for something else to go onto needles. Cozy and Clapotis from Knitty are strong contenders. I’m also admiring everyone else’s Klaralund. Do I dare start a sweater? Especially since sweaters give me the wiggins? Making a sweater seems a little bit out of my expertise and comfort zone. I’m a sewing dunce. One of these days I’m going to bite the bullet.
Wednesday night I’m going to the Cincinnati Meetup at Knit Happens in Oakley. I went to the meetup in August and had an okay time. I’m quiet and a little shy around people I’m not acquainted with so it’s hard for me to just jump in a conversation. It appears that it’s going to be a smaller group this time so hopefully it will be easier to talk to everyone. I’ll let you know how the meetup was on Wednesday. Also, I’ll let you know what’s going on the needles next. I’ll be buying at Knit Happens. I can promise you that!

Make clapotis! I really want to but have too many other projects right now, so maybe I could have fun watching you do it!
