With the 4th comes fireworks, grills, baseball, and sunburns. Sunday we went to see the Reds play the Astros. We sat in the sun. I forgot the sunscreen in the car. I wore a scoop-neck t-shirt. I look like this.
I hurt like hell. Remember…fair skin + blue eyes = burny.
Not much has been going on knitting wise. Klaralund progresses, but there’s nothing new worth showing. I have 2 gifts in progress. They’re almost done. I’ll take pictures of them and post them later this week.
One nifty new thing I did. Dye yarn. I did it a few weeks back at Lambikins. I pull up in the parking lot and there’s a table set up behind the store with pots and stuff. At first I thought they were grilling. I get closer and they’re dyeing all sorts of goodies. Sara was the dyemaster general. I handpainted some Manos del Uruguay.
The colors I used were Wisteria, Primrose Pink, and Queen Mother (how’s that for a name). It turned out to be very pretty berry colors. I am pretty sure what this will end up being. Another gift to start when another is finished.
I hope everyone had a happy 4th and didn’t get any bits blown off with all the fireworks and firecrackers that were a poppin’.
