What's next for us? Tornado? Monsoon? Tsunami?
Back in April (?), we had a minor earthquake in this area. Nothing serious. Just a little shaking around 5 am. No damage, but a first for us to experience. Not saying that earthquakes never happen in this area, they do, but that we personally have never experienced one.
The day after the Buddy Walk, the forecast was for warm and breezy. Breezy, y'all. I don't think what happened could have been classified as breezy. We went out for breakfast that morning with the remaining members of Pickle's Posse who were still in town. It was windy, but nothing too crazy. As the day went on, it got more and more crazy. We were in our sun room, which has 6 windows and a sliding glass door and is surrounded by trees. At one point, Doug said we probably shouldn't be sitting in there anymore. There were sticks, twigs, and debris flying into our windows. At 1 pm, the electricity went out. We know it was right at 1 because we couldn't even catch kickoff of the Bengals game.
We raided Liam's toys for batteries, found what we needed in the swing, and took the radio downstairs and listened to the game. Off and on, Doug would go upstairs to look to see what was happening. At one point he yelled a bunch of obscenities. The tree in our front yard was snapped. A little while later, more obscenities. Our shingles were flying off our roof. Quickly.
The weather reports said we experienced 50 mph winds with gusts up to 80 mph for 4-5 hours. We were without electricity for 5 days.
In one year, I can say I've experienced an earthquake and a hurricane, well, the remnants of a hurricane anyway. I'm done with crazy weather.

My parents who live in Waynesville need a new roof and my aunt in Centerville lost several trees out of their yard. That was one heck of a storm you guys got!
