Last weekend, we went to see Marshall play WVU.
We tailgated at The Joan for a couple of hours before the game.
Marshall played toe to toe with WVU for 3 quarters and then the defense just wore out. It was a fun time though, with very little idiocy from the WVU fans. Best t-shirt of the day: "Beat WVU!" (front) "And the couch burnin’ hillbillies they brought with them!" (back). Second best t-shirt: "Coal Sucks! Keep West Virginia Green!" The game is sponsored by Friends of Coal so that t-shirt got some big laughs.
Monday night was Bengals night!
He looks happy there, but by gametime he was a cranky man. He finally fell asleep towards the end of the game so we had to be calm and quiet when the Bengals won.
I have been knitting. I have my gauge swatch done for my Nina sweater. I’m still working on Pomatomus. I have turned the heel and am working the gusset on the first sock. This is a slow moving project. So fiddly. Especially when I had to unknit 2 rounds because I cannot follow directions.
I do have something finished to show. A Warshrag!
This is the ever-so-common (and popular) dishcloth pattern from Mason-Dixon Knitting. I knit it with Lily Sugar n’ Cream cotton yarn (ugh!). I knocked it out in a day, just knitting here and there when Liam was asleep or playing happily. As you can see, the navy yarn bled onto the cream, but it’s a dishrag so who really cares?
Yesterday and today, there is a hint of fall in the air. I bought a new teakettle this afternoon so I’m going to fix a cup of tea this evening. I love this weather! Please, no more hot days!
The weather has been nice. They are even calling for cooler weather as the week goes on.
Missed you Monday night. I actually was able to make it to knitting. It was so nice to be able to get out of the house.
You have the cutest little football watcher!
I love cooler weather too! Enjoy your tea and knitting ๐
He is 1 good looking Bengals fan!
Don’t you just love football season!!!
It might be common and popular, but I LURVER it and think it’s tops!
