Doug and I are leaving for New York tomorrow. Thanksgiving with the in-laws. I’m making my "To Pack" list. I do this everytime I pack for a trip. Doesn’t matter how long I’ll be gone, a weekend or weeks, I have a list of items that I must take. Naturally, I have spent more time pondering what knitting to bring instead of things like socks. Just noticed that deodorant hasn’t made it onto the list yet. Writing it down now…
Okay, my planned New York knitting.
1. Who Dey socks–finish the 2nd sock.
2. Crusoe socks–finish the 2nd sock.
3. Cabled Shrug from IK fall ’05–yarn wound, needles packed, mag packed. I don’t think I’ll finish it, but I want to get a good start.
4. Heeless Bed Socks from Knitting Vintage Socks–yarn wound, needles packed, book packed.
5. Wrist Warmers from Last Minute Knitted Gifts–yarn wound, book packed. I’ll stop by the LYS tomorrow after I sneak out of work (about 2.5 hours early) before they close to pick up necessary needles.
Also to be packed: Weekend Knitting and Handknit Holidays. Oh yeah, Scarf Style. I want to go into town (I really mean go into town) and visit some NY LYSs. I need to write up a "To Knit" list so I can search for yarn accordingly.
Am I crazy thinking that I can finish some things and get good starts on others? I plan on doing a hell of a lot of knitting. I mean, me (with the husband, chickens and cows) on a farm with no cable television (no Bengals game!) or any other diversions.
I’ll be in the chair in front of the fireplace if you need me. If you’re traveling for the holiday, stay safe. Happy Turkey Day!
(edited to add: I just realized that the title for this post might make some of you think something. That answer would still be no.)

Have a safe trip. I am a Lambikin’s shopper too. I think we might have met on a knit night before, but I am horrible with names.
You can never take too much knitting. As I say it is better to have too much than not enough. ๐ Have fun and enjoy yourself.
