One Great Knitter
Write about a knitter whose work (whether because of project choice,
photography, styling, scale of projects, stash, etc) you enjoy. If they
have an enjoyable blog, you might find it a good opportunity to send a
smile their way.
I had a really hard time with this. There are so many great knitters out there. Famous knitters like Elizabeth Zimmerman and Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. Awesome designers like Norah Gaughan and Jared Flood. Inspirational knit-bloggers like The ADD Knitter, A Friend to Knit With, and Joli House. I thought long and hard about writing about the awesome knitters in my Monday night knit group: Alisha, Hallie, Genevieve, Christina, Donna, Tonia, Ahna, Amy, and everybody else who rocks 217 South B (sorry if I forgot anyone!). But when I sat down and really thought about it, one name kept popping up over and over again for a variety of reasons: Ysolda Teague.
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of her designs. I’ve knit Gretel and Ishbel, and I’m this close to finishing the Vine Yoke Cardigan. I don’t think she’s put out anything that made me raise an eyebrow or say it’s not my taste. She has great design sensibility and a personal style that I envy. Her life seems like it’s a little whimsical fairy tale world. I’m sure it’s just an ordinary life like we all live, but sometimes I have to wonder. She’s also making a living at this knitting life and is changing the publishing game. You have to admire that. If you’re not familiar with her, check out her designs on Ravelry or her blog.

Ysolda and Jared Flood are such popular picks for day 3 – and for good reasons. I’m working on my Damson right now!
