I released Harvest Moon late yesterday evening as the Harvest Moon was rising. I am completely and totally smitten with this pattern. Everything from the shawl itself, the yarn, the color of the yarn, and the photographs are just right.
I was so unsure of this one. As I was binding it off, I felt like I wanted to cry because I didn’t think it was going to work out right. I threw it in the bathtub with some Soak and then pinned it out. As I was pinning it out, my opinion changed. I stood there and looked at it and thought, “This is the best thing I’ve ever designed. Ever.”
Golden sunlight, golden fields, a slight chill in the air as autumn
arrives; all are reflected in Harvest Moon. Worked from the bottom up
with a wavy lace edge, Harvest Moon is just what you want to wear when
the leaves start to turn.
Pattern includes both written and charted instructions. This pattern
has been professionally tech edited by Katherine Vaughan and test knit. Thanks to my test knitter, model, and friend Jenny for being so agreeable to do what I ask. ๐

I bet some of you who are DS bloggers visiting from the 31 for 21 blog list are like “Knitting, what? Where’s the DS?” Here it is. Today is the first of October and marks the beginning of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. I’ll be participating in the sixth annual 31 for 21 blog event to raise awareness about Down syndrome. My soon-to-be 6 year old son has Down syndrome. I knit. Here’s where the two meet.
