I released a new pattern today.
Haverhill is a generously-sized, two color shawl worked in a fingering weight yarn. The upper body of the shawl is worked in simple garter stitch. Increases are worked every right side row to give the shawl its triangular shape.
After the garter stitch section is finished, the lace panels are worked in a second color. In between each lace panel, there are a couple of rows of garter stitch and a stockinette panel. The stockinette panel has a row of bobbles. The shawl is finished with a few rows of lace.
Garter stitch, lace, and bobbles. I’ll admit when I was planning this shawl and through the first drafts of the pattern, the shawl only had garter stitch and lace. No bobbles. But as I was knitting and getting closer to the first stockinette panel, the little knitting voice that exists in my head (You have one too, right?) told me the shawl needed bobbles. Bobbles? Yes, bobbles. So there are bobbles.
If you’re a bobble-hater, I know you’re out there, then you can just leave out the bobbles or if you really want to do something else, you can add beads instead, just like one of my test knitters.
Haverhill is available to purchase on Ravelry. All of the pattern details can be found by following the link to the Ravelry page, but like always, the shawl has been test knit and tech edited. The pattern includes a chart along with row by row, written instructions for the chart. You also get a separate PDF with row by row stitch counts.
