Beginning Cables

January 12, 2006 By Mindy

I started the Cabled Shrug from IK Fall 2005 over my Thanksgiving vacation.  I picked it back up again.  It’s really the only project I have going on right now.  I think that this is the first time I’ve only had one project.  Well, except for Klaralund, but I don’t really count that since the knitting part is finished.

Can you see the cables?  Not so much with everything bunched onto a straight needle.  Even though it’s taboo (supposedly) to switch needles mid-project, I think I’m going to switch it over to a circular needle for ease.  It’s sucks trying to jam 100+ stitches onto a straight needle and it makes my fingers ache, sliding all those stitches around.

Roxie says, "I cannot be seen behind this pillow.  I am sneaky."

"The needle is mine!"

So, circulars it is.  Gauge be damned.
