It's been busy times at our house lately. I haven't been able to update as much as I want, but I want to make a quick rundown of things that are going on.
Liam continues to talk, talk, talk. He talks to the TV, talks to his toys, talks to the cats, talks to himself, talks to his sissy. Some of it is understandable, and some of it is not. But, boy oh boy is he a chatterbox! He tells us what he wants to eat (9 times out of 10 it's toast). He tells us when he's dirtied his diaper (diaper dirty he says). He tells us he wants to watch Melmo.
He's also started to "say" his alphabet. We show him letters and have him repeat them back to us. A lot of them are very, very clear. We also read Dr. Seuss' ABC book and have him tell us the letters. I don't think he knows what he's doing yet, but he's definitely developing a foundation for learning his letters. The letter of the day on Sesame Street today was Z. He was saying Z when they were showing it on the screen. If he really recognized it or was just repeating it, I don't know, but I like it.
The other day we were playing Play Doh at the table. I had cookie cutters and little things for him to press into the Play Doh. One thing I had was a toddler spoon that he refuses to eat from, but it's good for playing Play Doh. He would scoop the Play Doh with the spoon then pretend to eat it. Then he would feed me. Holy pretend play! That was lots of fun to see. Oh, there was no Play Doh on the spoon; the spoon is too flimsy to scoop it up.
Juliana J is smiling and cooing all over the place. The other day she squealed with delight at her little light up star. She's starting to reach and play with toys. All of a sudden she's holding her head up more and tolerating tummy time for more than two minutes at a time. It's just so, so weird to see her do all these things on her own. I mean, I play with her and talk to her, but I don't focus on what we should be working on. What the next steps are. She just blazes away on her own. Nice, but weird.
I have a ton of pictures to upload to the camera. I've got some seriously cute kids.

They both sound like they are doing great. Liam and Delphine sound similar. She loves those alphabet magnets from Leap Frog and it hit me one day that she was singing along. So cool isn’t it??
