Last week, I started the Little Pumpkin hat for Liam to wear this fall. That’s a shot of the hat in progress. I finished the hat this past Friday–less than a week from start to finish.
Project Details:
Pattern: Little Pumpkin from Itty-Bitty Hats by Susan B. Anderson
Size: 6-12 months
Needles: US 6 16 inch circulars and US 6 DPNs
Yarn: Reynolds PlayTime (orange, brown, green). I used almost all of the orange but still have almost all of the brown and green leftover. More than enough for another hat. I purchased the yarn at Lambikins.
Pattern Mods: The sizing of this pattern is HUGE! For the 6-12 month size, the pattern says to knit to 6.5 inches before beginning the decreases at the top of the hat. When I got to 5 inches, I tried it on Liam thinking that it looked plenty big enough. 5 inches was perfect for his noggin. The newborn size in the pattern says to knit to 5.5 inches. If you knit this, watch out for the length. Try it on the recipient if at all possible. I’m not the only one to have this issue. There are quite a few projects in Ravelry with the same comments.
It’s another Monday Night Football night for us.
There is some shame in the way the Bengals have played the past two weeks.
