So my last post caused a bit of excitement in my little world. If you read the comments…No, I am not pregnant. Yes, I would like to be. Yes, DH is on board with the whole having a child thing. And, yes, we are getting frustrated with this whole thing. The barfy feelings were a direct result of me being stressed out from blocking the backpack. And for the record I didn’t really throw up. I just get super-nauseated when I’m stressed out and trying to get things to be just the way I want them. Hence the whole perfectionist bit of the last post.
Knit wise, knit wise…What have I got?
The backpack is almost done. Almost. I really really really want to have it done when Tracy comes up this weekend so she can take it home to Lindsey. I have finished 2 Christmas gifts this week. See the sidebar for what they are. I will take pictures and post them when I have the ends woven in and they are blocked.
Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday Mommy!!!
Ten Reasons Why My Mom Is the Best Mom:
1. She still braids my hair when I ask.
2. She taught me to read when I was 3.
3. She let me have parties in junior high and high school with no advance planning whatsoever. "Mom, a few of my friends are coming over after the dance. Okay?"
4. She makes the best pancakes.
5. She never missed an extracurricular event. Cheerleading, she was there. School plays, there. Gymnastics classes, there. Honor Society/PBK inductions, there.
6. She didn’t freak out when she first met Doug who was in full KISS face paint.
7. She listens to me rant even though sometimes she has no idea what I’m going on about.
8. She buys me gifts (hello, new shoes and bags!) without it being a birthday/holiday.
9. She brings me hot dog sauce from Snak Shak every summer.
10. She always supported whatever decision I made about my life (activities, classes, college, etc.)–but not always boys.
11. She doesn’t get mad when we are cracking up during church because we’re telling stupid jokes and laughing at each other.
12. She was a mom and a dad and did everything for me, Tracy, and Lindsey. She is the reason I am the way I am. And the way my sisters are. We are 3 beautiful, smart, successful, caring, loving, giving girls because of the person she is. And everything that we have is because of her. Except for the scowl and the nuttiness. Don’t know where that came from.
