On the next day of vacation (sorry, I meant for these to be daily posts but got sidetracked), Mom, Lindsey, Liam, and I traveled back down the mountain highway to Lewisburg. If you ever have a chance to go to Lewisburg, go. It’s a great, funky little town that has way more than you would ever expect a tiny town in the middle of nowhere West Virginia to have. Lots of antiques, art galleries, and one of a kind boutiques. Before we made it to Lewisburg, we stopped at Beartown Park. It’s supposed to have really cool rock formations but we couldn’t make it through the walkway because a rock had fallen and crushed the walkway. We were also the only people at the park. It was very chilly and had a horror movie feel to it. Unwilling to go shopping, the boys spent the time in the river fishing and kayaking.
The only shot of Beartown.
Doug fishing.
Vacation knitting:
I was knitting away on the body of the French Market Bag. When we first got to Lewisburg, I was immediately distracted by the sight of drop spindles in a shop window. It was a weird shop with yarn, roving, and spinning supplies right next to new age healing supplies and a hair salon. All together in one space. Odd. I bought the requisite souvenir yarn and a book for Liam called Martha Moth Makes Socks. It’s a very cute book.

Sounds like a fun vacation.

Such pretty pictures. Sounds like an odd shop. Like the gas station stores that you stop at that have food, souveniers, etc. etc.
