Except for the picture of me modeling it, here it is.
See my comfy pink sweatpants? I gave Klaralund a bath in Eucalan.
Laid her on the floor to dry.
She’s folded and put away.
Alterations to pattern: I could not get gauge exactly for some reason so I came as close as I could. She’s a little long and roomy, but I can definitely wear it around the house with no worries that the husband will point and laugh. I crossed the sleeves in the front to make the V-neck cross and I didn’t sew up the back so the back has a v-neck as well, which I like.
The Silk Garden softened and relaxed quite a bit in the bath (probably why it’s longer than when I first put it on before bath), and quite a bit of straw and junk came out in the water. I’m proud of my seaming job cause you know how much I hate it and think I’m no good at it.
Overall, my first sweater turned out pretty good and I’m quite pleased. Yay me!

Yay! You’ll only have one first sweater – and it looks great! Congrats!

I LOVE IT! Beautiful first sweater – mine sure did not turn out that well! My Klaralund that I made in December was one of my favorite knits ever. I am already thinking about another one! The colorway you used is very similar to the one I used – love the results ๐
Wear it with great pride – no one’s first sweater is supposed to look that good! ๐

It looks great!!! I recently finished my first sweater too… doesn’t it feel good? Like we’re “real” knitters now or something….

great to see you this week; it had been too long!

Oh, I remember when most of this was just skeins waiting to be used and watching it get more awesome over time. Bravo!

Your sweater first sweater…..WOW!!! I am in the process of making my first sweater. I have to say you are much braver than me since I choose a plain colour, plain knit pattern as my first. Do you have plans for another?
