Klaralund

She’s completely knitted.  I just have to sew the seams and finish her up.  I plan on doing that this weekend.  I need a block of time to finish everything, which I’m not going to get during the week.  Send happy, happy seaming wishes my way.  Remember the last time I tried to sew something?  The knitted item which shall remain nameless?  The one that spent time in a trash can and is now waiting to be frogged and reincarnated?  Shudder.  I need happy seaming thoughts.  Or maybe just some chocolate.  Or some moonshine wine.  Or both.

French Market Bag

I started the French Market Bag from Knitty on Sunday.  I’m using Cascade 220 and 220 Quattro.

I really like knitting this.  It’s a Christmas gift for someone who may or may not read this blog so I can’t say who the recipient will be.  It’s perfect TV knitting.  If I like the way it turns out, I can see knitting a lot more of these.  Minimal yarn cost, easy, cute, no sewing.  My kind of project.

Who Dey Socks

The Who Dey socks made an appearance yesterday at my managers meeting.  Once a week, all of the contract lab managers meet to discuss issues and ask questions and hold training sessions, blah blah blah.  I usually have my knitting bag in the car with me every day in case I get a chance during the day to knit.  I normally arrive at the meeting several minutes early and because we wait on the late arrivals before the meeting starts, I thought I would have about 15 minutes or so to sneak a few rows in.  I was running behind though so I didn’t get anything done.  At the start of the meeting, we go around and give a brief summary of the past work week.  This week we also talked about what was going on in our lives.  I said that I didn’t do anything last weekend.  Just stayed at home and watched football.  Of course someone then said, "Who Dey!"  I replied, "Wanna see my sock?"  Everyone was a little confused at first, but when I pulled the sock out of my bag, they were impressed.  I even got a couple of requests for Who Dey beer cozies.  Cool.

What the hell is up with the perfectly straight orderly stripes?
