I succumbed to the peer pressure.
I signed up for the Knitting Olympics. Could it have anything to do with the discount that the LYS is offering for supplies for your project? Or could it have anything to do with the opening ceremonies party at LYS? I’d like to think that it has everything to do with wanting to challenge myself, but let’s be serious here. A discount and a party? Count me in.
I’ll be doing the Shoalwater Shawl by Fiber Trends.
My challenges:
1. Lace. I tend to mess it up and rip it out so doing this correctly will be a challenge.
2. New techniques. Provisional cast-on. Picot cast off. I-cord edging.
3. Complete something in 16 days. A challenge for everyone involved.
My yarn is Lorna’s Laces Sheperd Sport in the Black Watch colorway. It’s still in the bag otherwise I’d take a picture of it, but it’s a gorgeous combo of dark blue, green, and black.
In other news, I signed up for a class with Annie Modesitt at Lambikins. I’m in the class for the Cocoon Shrug that was on the cover of VK a couple of issues back.
It’ll be good times.

So jealous! They aren’t exactly a LYS for me (Dayton) but they are my preferred YS and I want to take that class so badly! I am still wavering over the Olympics but the pull of the party is awfully tempting.

I love that Black Watch LL colorway – your shawls will be gorgeous in it.
