Last weekend, I attended and exhibited at TNNA in Columbus, Ohio. TNNA is an industry trade show for those in the needle arts industry. Yarn companies, notions makers, designers, teachers, and others come together to show their products, and retail stores come to see what’s new and place orders. TNNA weekend is an absolute whirlwind! I love meeting with yarn stores and talking about my patterns, but TNNA is also the place to meet and talk and network with the lovely people in this industry. I exhibited again this year, and I shared a booth space with fellow Stitch Sprouts designers, Andrea Rangel and Ysolda Teague.

 

 

I had a great time and a great show.

Coming back home after TNNA is always a little difficult. I’m so exhausted and getting anything done is really hard because all I want to do is nap, but last week, I had to take Juliana every morning (and pick her up every afternoon) to day camp at Gorman Heritage Farm, and that’s when the week really went off the rails.

On Wednesday, as I was stopped at a red light at the end of the exit ramp from the interstate, I was rear ended by a driver who didn’t stop at all. The kids were totally fine. Not a scratch on them. I had marks down my neck and chest from the seat belt and ended up getting checked out by a doctor because I had neck and shoulder pain, but I had no injuries other than the seat belt rash and a bruise on my left hand. What initially looked like some damage to the rear bumper and the trunk of my car, ended up being a lot more. There was frame damage and the rear driver side panel was buckled. My insurance ended up totaling my car. Ugh. Last week was an absolute mess. I’m pretty sure I cried every day since the accident.

But we made it through. My insurance has been wonderful. I bought a new car on Saturday. We made it to every softball and baseball game and dance recital and Cub Scout event.

 

 

This week is already off to a better start. We’re getting used to the summer routine. I’ve managed to get some actual work done today. I have new patterns in the works, and some yarn just arrived for more.
