Prepping

July 27, 2012 By Mindy

27 Jul

Tonight is the start of the Summer Olympics. I love the Olympics, and the kids are old enough to really get into the games this year. Tonight, my LYS is hosting a party for the Opening Ceremonies. We''ll have food, tea, and scones, and we'll cast on our projects at the start of the Opening Ceremonies. It's always a lot of fun.

I've gone back and forth about what I'm going to knit for my project. I've decided to knit two shawls. Two new shawl designs. One is August's full moon shawl and the other is a secret project. The August moon shawl is charted. I need to sit down and write the pattern. The secret project has charts that are mostly complete. Since I can knit that one straight from the charts, I just need to finish up the last chart for that one before I cast on.

See? This really needs to be written up into a pattern.

While the kids are napping, I'll be baking at least two batches of scones. I'm making vanilla and bacon & cheddar scones for tonight. I hope I can bang out another batch besides those two. I might not have enough butter. I also need to wind my yarn for tonight. I'll be casting on August's full moon shawl tonight.

What are you knitting for your Olympic/Ravellenic project?
