I pulled into the garage and spied my lovely DH raking leaves in the backyard. After going in the house to drop my stuff off, I went out to the yard. I got a kiss and then got sweet-talked into raking leaves. How stupid am I? The boy picks me flowers (the last surviving flowers I planted around the mailbox) and leaves them right in the middle of the table with a note that says “I love you” and he totally convinces me to rake leaves. Just put a wrapper around my head and call me a “Dum-Dum”.
The poncho is really moving along. If I knit like I did last weekend, I’ll be more than halfway through. Since I’m a pretty slow knitter, I feel like that’s an accomplishment. I’m going to Lambikin’s tomorrow to pick up some needles so that I can start the Lopi Lace scarf. I love Lambikins. Such a nice store. They always say “Hi” (with a nice smile) when I come in the door and are always willing to help out when I have a question.
So more about the meetup and Knit Happens. It’s a gorgeous store. I love the pink awning and stairs. It’s very girly which is very me. But no one spoke when I came in. Even though I was very obviously browsing some expensive yarn, no one offered to help. I had been knitting in my little chair for about 1/2 an hour before someone even asked my name. I thought the purpose of these things was to meet new people. I’m so not going there anymore. Does anyone know of another knitting group in Cincinnati? I’d really like to meet some people that knit.
Tomorrow I have to get my car registration renewed. Blechh! Then I’m going to Lambikins. And then grocery shopping at Jungle Jim’s. And THEN I’m going to knit the rest of the weekend away. Happy knitting (and purling)!
