Ready for fall.

September 12, 2009 By Mindy

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon here.  Bright and sunny, but there's just a hint of fall in the air.  A little crispness to the breeze.  I like it.

Finishedberet2

I'm ready for it.  I finished my Gretel beret a little more than a week ago.  I love this pattern.  I love this hat.

Finishedgretel

Pattern: Gretel by Ysolda Teague

Yarn: Classic Elite Lush.  I used about 1.5 skeins to knit the regular version.

Needles: US 5 and US 7

Pattern Mods:  None.

The pattern is written for three sizes:  fitted, regular, and slouchy.  I knit the regular size.  I would have knit the slouchy size, but I would probably have run out of yarn.  I love this pattern so much I'm contemplating what yarn I have in my stash that would be right for the slouchy version.

Babyberet1

Babyberet2

She is way cuter than me.  Tres chic bebe.

Babyberet3

The best models are always the most difficult.

Already, I've got another project headed towards completion.  Juliana will be stylin' this fall and winter in her February Baby Sweater.
