I cannot believe how fast these slippers knit up. I’m using the Mohair Ballet Slipper Pattern from Felted Knits. The yarn I’m using is Lamb’s Pride Worsted in Garnet with Brownsheep Handpaint Originals in Mountain Meadow (at least I think that’s the name–I’m too lazy to go downstairs and check). It’s knit with a double strand on size 13s. Instant gratification. Except I made a couple of mistakes that I’m not quite sure what went wrong, well actually I do and I thought I fixed them but a big gaping hole was left, so I’m going to need some advice on how to proceed. I’m not so worried. And I used a longer needle than what was called for so I have to finagle the stitches around the cable so that I can knit them. But with how fast this went I’m okay with this, and the slipper actually looks like a slipper.
I love the way the colors look together. I think they’re going to look awesome once felted. See the close-up of the stitches. Imagine felted. So pretty, you think?
Since these took me less than 2 hours to get about 80% of the slipper knitted and since I can’t go any further without a little advice, tonight I’m going to work on the fair isle and watch, holy crap, Survivor is on tonight! So Survivor and CSI tonight. Woo hoo.
Slipper profanity count: 1 ("What the hell?" — said when I made my mistake)

Lovely colors on that slipper. I hope you’re able to fix them. Sorry I don’t have any advice on that score!

Hi Mindy!
Your slipper looks awesome! I love that garnet color, and the other colors look great with it. I’m worried now…I’m off to check the gauge on my stupid fair isle…I’m notoriously tight, but when I swatched I was fine…uh oh. I’m afraid if I rip it at this point I’ll never knit it again!!

Very nice! That texture is amazing. The shiny thread almost looks like silk. Can’t wait to see it all felted up!

I’ve made slippers with that same color, garnet, and a different colorway of handpaint. You will love them. Did you ever had those ‘confetti cakes’ when you were a kid? That’s what the colors look like: all confetti-like. Have fun!

Those are beautiful colors. Don’t you just LOVE Brown Sheep yarns?
