I’ve started another pair of socks.
Feather and Fan from the book Socks Socks Socks. Yarn is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Tuscany colorway. I enjoy the pattern. It’s very easy to remember. However, the heel flap is bugging me. It’s in a 1×1 rib, over 32 stitches. You would think that it would be k1, p1 all the way, but there’s a weird k1,p1 to last 2 stitches, k2 (or p2 if on WS). That bugs me. I see no reason for it. I’m also bothered that there are no slipped stitches, making picking up stitches for the gusset more difficult (not really difficult, but it’s enough to make you think about what you’re doing). So do I redo the heel flap or leave as is?
In other sock questions, do I bring the feather & fan socks with me tomorrow morning to the RE’s (RE = Reproductive Endocrinologist) office or start a new pair that is nothing more than mindless stockinette or rib? Will I be able to knit at all? I cried last night over the shot in the stomach (fertility drugs for those of you not in the know). Not because it hurt, Doug was the best–very gentle and sweet–at giving me the shot, but because it was a big deal for me this first time. It means something. So will I cry tomorrow morning or will I be able to knit? Let’s hope that I don’t have to go back so many times that I will be nonchalant and I’ll care less about what’s going on and be more concerned about the yarn.

I have to say that more often than not, I ignore heel instructions and do what I know works for me.
And I vote for taking the sock with you. Easy enough to do when a bit distracted, but you can give it lots of attention if you need *it* to be the distraction.
