The Most Boring Project in the World…

Lindsey’s boring ass bookbag.  I’m basically following the Punk Rock Backpack pattern from SnB.  Sans monkey or bunny.  DH says it’s the Charlie Brown backpack–see the stripe on the orange–just like Charlie’s sweater.

This is the front of the bag.  The little roll at the top is the top of the bag.  It looks just like the larger piece.  A zipper is supposed to join them to make the complete front.  The gusset is what’s killing me with this project.  44 1/2" of garter stitch.  Yuck, yuck yuck!  And, yes, she picked the orange and green together.

Klaralund is still a nasty bitch…

I frogged what I had knitted due to the designer’s (or her editor’s) inability to publish the correct number of stitches to cast on.  Now that I’m ready to start again (I still love this pattern), I can’t get gauge!!!  Not on 8’s (what the pattern calls for)–I get 20 sts/4 in.  Not on 9’s–I get 20 sts/4 in.  Not on 10’s–I get 20 sts/4 in.  Should be 16 sts/4 in.  But what the hell?!?  Three different needles sizes and I get the same gauge??  I’m going to swatch again tonight.  But at this point, it’s Klaralund 2, Mindy 0.
