We've had three successful sleeps in Liam's new big boy room.
Those are the before shots. Obviously. The room was our spare room/office. We moved the computer downstairs several weeks ago. I went through the room and literally threw away 50 pounds of crap. The dresser drawers in the floor are from an old dresser I had in my room in junior high and high school. My sister stenciled the angels on the drawers when she inherited it after I went away to college.
We got the room painted the weekend before last. I painted the wall in the picture above and did all of the cutting in around the baseboards, trim, and window. I loaded up the iPod and listened to knitting podcasts as I painted. The color is Glidden Gulfside. I was initially thinking I wanted a lighter blue, but when we were picking out the paint chips, this color stood out.
The letters are the same red as the dresser drawers. The red really pops on the blue wall. We added some artwork on the wall above the bed, a framed bronze football and a bronze basketball. We still need to locate an Elmo poster for the wall next to the door. We're also going to hang a Reds pennant and a Bengals pennant above the wooden dresser. Liam is a Cincinnati fan just like us, no matter how bad the teams suck it up every year.
I am so pleased with how his room turned out. It's such a little boy's room without being covered in the latest fad Disney crap.
He needs someone to lay down with him to get him to take a nap, but he went right to bed last night with no muss or fuss last night. I came home from a Mom's Night Out dinner last night, and he was happily snoozing in his bed.
We now need to move Juliana out of our room and into the crib. I think she will sleep better away from us. I know I'll sleep better if I don't have to hear her sleepy noises all night long.

Wow! It looks GREAT. And I am impressed that you moved Liam to a bed. I am too scared (of losing my mind) of letting Georgia move to a bed. She would be out of it CONSTANTLY. I just know. Do you use a bar on the side so he doesn’t fall out? Wow. Maybe I am not giving G enough credit????? I don’t know. Brave Mama!
