The first full week of school is done. We’ve adjusted to the earlier start of the school day without a hitch. Homework is getting done with minimal grumbling. We’ve eaten ice cream. We bought tickets to a college football game. It’s that time between the end of summer and start of fall.
- We watched MTV’s Video Music Awards this week. I am definitely too old for the VMAs now, seeing as how I didn’t even recognize some of the names, but we watched to see Ariana Grande’s performance. One of Juliana’s choreographers was a dancer for Ariana Grande so we watched because it’s not everyday that your kid can say, “Hey, that’s my dance teacher!” Here’s a breakdown of the performance from the choreographers.
- If you’re on Instagram, you may have noticed (or maybe not) there’s been a huge uptick in knitting bot accounts. These accounts steal photos from other Instagram users, try to amass a large following, then either sell products or sell the account to someone shady. Please, for the love of Pete, don’t follow, don’t comment, don’t like, don’t interact with these accounts. You can read more from Eden Cottage Yarn.
- Speaking of Instagram…You are not creative or original on Instagram. It’s the same with the knitting world. All the same layouts, all the same patterns; but, I do like all the pretty pictures. Better than the hellfire over on Twitter.
- Dinner of the week: Slow Cooker Chicken Burrito Bowls. I serve them with tortilla chips and lots of hot sauce.
- I’m trying to decide on yarn for a new design. The nominees are Quince and Co. Chickadee, BaaRamEwe Winterburn DK, and Kate Davies Buachaille. Can’t decide. At all.
