Welcome back to Tidbits. I had to take a break the past couple of weeks. Last Friday, I had a sick kid with strep throat, and it spread through the house like wildfire. Three of the four of us are on antibiotics.
My upcoming Mystery KnitAlong kicks off on Tuesday. Do you have your yarn picked out yet?
- You may have seen this over the past couple of days. From the Washington Post, this terrible account of what happened when a 16 year old reported her rape. Why don’t we believe women?
- Once more for those in the back, why don’t we believe women?
- Kate Davies posted a thought-provoking article about making things locally and the assumptions surrounding products “made in Britain”. It’s certainly worth considering here in the US as well.
- I’m headed to the NY Sheep and Wool festival next month. I bought this tote bag today.
- Dinner of the week: Buffalo Chicken Chili. I made a few modifications to this recipe. I didn’t brown my ground chicken first–just broke it up and dumped it into the crockpot. Based on reviews, I only used 1 can of chicken broth and could have cut down that amount. I also didn’t add cream cheese because cream cheese is the devil and disgusting. I stirred in sour cream at the end of cooking time.
Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
