We left my sister’s house on a Tuesday morning. We crossed over into West Virginia and got on I-64. About 45 minutes into the trip, we were in Charleston.

About 1 hour later, we stopped at Tamarack. Yep, the inspiration for our colorway of the same name.
We browsed the shops, ate lunch, fed Liam and were back on the road.
We stopped in Lewisburg about 45 minutes later to gas up and grab a snack. Then we got on the winding mountain highway to take us to our cabin. 30 miles and 1 hour later, we were there. We stayed at the Greenbrier River Cabins in Seebert, West Virginia. There are 5 or 6 cabins together on a stretch of road. The town of Seebert is up the road a bit and is just a few houses, a church, and a corner market.
Our cabin–The Woodshed
The next shots are of the area surrounding our cabin. When you walk down the stairs from the deck, you just have to walk a few feet before you’re at the Greenbrier River. Across the road, behind the cabin, is the Greenbrier River Trail. The Greenbrier River Trail is a hiking and biking trail that used to be a railroad line. You’ll see some more pictures of that later.
The first day we unpacked and went to get groceries. The boys explored the river a bit, but we just got settled in.
Liam is a good traveler, but at the end of the day he was spent. Finally, you get to see some unhappy Liam pictures. But…Liam is a giant ham. He took one look at the camera and was all happy again.
Daddy, I am tired and not happy.
Hey, Mommy has a camera.
Tomorrow, you’ll see more pictures of vacation. I took close to 100 pictures while we were gone.
Knitting on vacation summary:
1) Knit the base and picked up stitches for French Market Bag while in the car.
2) Listened to back episodes of Lime N’ Violet and Cast On while in the car.
