Weekend Past…A Knitting Revelation
Okay, so the weekend of the 17th and 18th. Tracy and I took a little trip to Yellow Springs to A Wool Gathering. We liked the animals the best.
I only bought 1 skein of some pretty alpaca yarn from Blueberry Hills Farm and a bar of lavender sage homemade soap. The biggest thing to come from the festival was from Tracy. After walking around the tents and looking at everything she says, "I think I want to learn to knit."
Well, okay, then. We headed back down to Cincinnati and stopped at Lambikins.
Tracy knits on her scarf while Sara knits in the background. Tracy has already started another scarf and is trying to decide what project to do next. That means I’ve taught both my sisters to knit. Now, it’s time to re-teach my mom. She used to knit. She knit a classic navy blue cardigan, years ago, that my grandmother still wears. It’s time for the peer pressure.
The next day we went to the Bengals-Vikings game.
So much fun! The game was great. Well, it was as long as you are a Bengals fan. It was even fun after the game when we watched a drunk guy run into a light pole and fall on the ground and roll around.
Last Week
Last week was super stressful. I was given 3 additional labs to manage, which isn’t really that big a deal, but one person turned in her 2 week notice. I was scrambling to find someone to cover her work while we’re interviewing for her replacement (if we replace her which just adds more stress). And Friday was just badness. I left work an hour early and cried and went to bed. I still haven’t told Doug what I was upset about because now I’m upset that I was upset and it makes me seem like a cold, mean, lizard-y person when I try to explain it in my head. Make sense? Yeah, didn’t think so.
I got some knitting done this past weekend. We didn’t do anything. I knit all day on Sunday while we watched the Bengals win. Again!!
Okay…so now you’re up to date on what’s been going on around here. I’ll have pictures and updates of my ongoing and new projects. Promise.
Your Secret Pal says
I had been wondering what you’ve been up to. Your package is coming around slowly but surely, and I’m hoping to get it out to you within the week. Sorry for the delay — work has been a similar ball of crying and stress for me too — ugh! I’m finding that knitting just helps me put a lot of that way. I hope you find a replacement and that you start to feel better about things in general.
Great about your sister knitting! I went to a family get together a few months ago, and there were 5 knitters there! You know what they say about a family that knits together…do they say anything about that???
