Despite the fact that it hasn’t rained in 2 days, the water is still coming in. I believe it’s seeping in through one wall. I noticed a small amount of water near one baseboard. I thought it was there because I had picked up Liam’s quilt and it dripped all over the place. Maybe some of that had settled near the baseboard. I mopped it up.
I went back down to check the water situation, and, sure enough, there’s water coming from the baseboard. This part of the basement is directly under our front step. The working theory is that there is a crack around the front step where water is seeping in. Hopefully, it’s an easy fix. Hopefully, it doesn’t require ripping out our front step. Especially since we’re traveling again next week.
Oh, didn’t I tell you? We’re headed to New York next Friday for some time with Doug’s family. If anyone is near the Rochester/Syracuse area, that’s where we’ll be.
This happens at our place, we have to move some dirt and make sure there aren’t any cracks along the outside walls and it usually fixes the leaks. I hope it’s an easy thing like that for you too!
