Here's the newest shawl design. Like I said yesterday, it's slow going right now. These long rows will make a little lacy ruffle on the bottom edge of the shawl; it will be worth it in the end. The yarn is Miss Babs Yowza Whatta Skein! in Beachglass. 

I just started The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. I've read a few Kate Morton books and have really liked what I've read. Like her other novels, The Secret Keeper goes back and forth between the present day and the past to unravel old family secrets.

I've done quite a bit of reading over the past few weeks. I read Still Life by Louise Penny. It's the first in a series, and when I finished Still Life, I had to stop myself from immediately heading out to buy the rest of the series. I also read Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. I love Barbara Kingsolver's novels, especially those set in Appalachia, so Flight Behavior was exactly right. I didn't like it as much as Prodigal Summer, which is my favorite Kingsolver novel and one of my favorite books ever, but Flight Behavior was still really, really good.
