From Small Things:
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a single photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
The yarn is Rowan Felted Tweed. I'm still working on the Mara Shawl. It's slow going mainly because I work on it in fits and spurts.
I finished reading Bloodroot by Amy Greene. I love novels that are set in Appalachia, and this one is no exception. There were passages that moved me deep down in my bones. I would read those passages over and over because I identified with them so much. If you have a recommendation for a book set in Appalachia, particularly West Virginia, I'd love to hear it.
The next book in my queue is Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James.

Have you read Sharyn McCrumb’s Ballad Series? They are set in Appalachia and are wonderful.
